How strenuous is horseback riding? If you are in moderately good physical condition, you shouldn't have any problems. It is much easier than hiking in the mountains. If you have the opportunity to ride some before your trip - do so, but it certainly is not necessary for you to be comfortable on your trip.
Will I be expected to work? The outfitter and wranglers will handle all camp chores, cooking and saddling of horses. You will need to keep track of your duffel, set up your sleeping area, and help keep the campsite free of litter. You'll find the spirit is contagious and you might want to help with the firewood or dry dishes. But feel free to spend time hiking, fishing, reading, or just relaxing. It's your vacation!
What are the camping conditions? Campsites are primitive; no plumbing, phones, electricity or vehicle support. The outfitter provides toilet facilities and solar showers with privacy. The creeks furnish fresh water and exhilarating baths downstream from camp. Much care must be given to avoid contaminating water sources. A wash basin will always be available.
What about radios? We suggest, in the name of peace tranquility, that you leave all radios or portable tape/cd players at home. Cameras are welcome.
